Inner Strengths that Lead to Higher Performance in Business
As an executive coach, my experience in working with leaders repeatedly demonstrates that effective leadership is rooted in two primary sources:
1. The tangible skills such as problem-solving and creating a shared vision. And
2. The development of inner strengths that lead to higher performance in business. This strength includes:
- Perseverance that withstands sudden and rapid changes in business, industry, or the surrounding economic environment
- A mental toughness that is resolute and tenacious—especially when dealing with unforeseen circumstances
- Calmness and clarity of mind under stress
- A 360 degree readiness to effectively respond to influences beyond your control.
Top leaders possess more than skills. They possess inner qualities that allow them to maximize those skills. In short, the most successful executives lead from within.
